Untitled- the kids are being loud and nothing witty is coming to me right now

Oh, how I loathe popsicles in our home! I bought some one day a couple weeks ago and now they are a permanent fixture. The kids are obsessed with them and I have to admit I love them, too. Big Boy has stained multiple shirts with them and now both kids know Popsicle=stripping down.

And before glorifying Sissy's most brilliant weekend, I will include one more pic of Big Boy. Same picture as my last blog post, only he is awake this time and looking darn cute getting his posse ready for bed, I think!

And here she is, princess ballerina. Her ballet class had a 8a.m. (on a Saturday morning) dance performance. It was only Sissy and I, I figured no one else would want to be up and out of our house that early in the morning. Pat later admitted to me that he and T slept until 9:15! It was a little painful but worth it as the girls were hilarious.

Did I mention it was also freezing outside? The poor little girls huddled together and jumped around for warmth.

The recital is in a couple of weeks so they have been practicing hard. I would say they all know- some of it. They started out slightly in sync...

And then there was some confusion...

Close enough!

Sissy continued to enjoy a special morning. We hit Sonic for some breakfast smoothies, then the studio for a dance rehearsal, and then we went to a birthday party. It was very fun- it had a play zone with slides and stuff for the kids and then a puppet show and some music and dancing. Did I feel VERY slightly guilty about leaving T home? Maybe, especially since I do it a lot. His enthusiasm for everything in his life just slightly overwhelms me sometimes. Those poor second children- they really do get the shaft!

All things Sis

Last Friday Sis had her Spring Program at school. Her class, as well as a few others, sang several songs they had learned throughout the year. It was quite the mix- starting with the Pledge of Allegiance, throwing in some light rapping and hand movements, the B-I-B-L-E, and traditional church songs with instruments. Sissy was very proud to be up there and very pleased with her flowers for her performance.

The pledge:

Big Boy could not contain his excitement as L walked on the stage. He was waving madly and yelling her name-very loudly. We finally detoured him snacks but when he saw the instruments come out he went crazy with jealousy!

Sissy told me, after receiving her flowers and twirling around in her dress, "it is just like I am getting married..."

Poor Big Boy. I fear he will be getting neglected on my blog due to all things Sissy. She has a dance recital coming up in a couple weeks followed by all the end-of-the-year school events so I fear he will be left out.

So here is my cute pic of Big Boy- he is OBSESSED with all things Toy Story. He has numerous Buzz figures, Woody figures, Toy Story drink cups, and accessories. Every night he chooses a few and aligns them just right for bed. I love it. I know, I take way too many pics of my kids sleeping!

Good times and not so good times

I have very little time to write today. Sissy has her Spring Program tonight and I have lots to do! But I thought I would share what's been going on in the last couple weeks-

Freaky hail storm- the kids thought it was awesome!

Headed to Emporia to visit Uncle Caca for his birthday, went to Carlos O'Kellys where he is a manager for dinner:

I had taken L to Kohls that day with the promise that she could pick out any gift for Micah that she wanted. At first she was leaning towards basketball shorts, then a KU shirt (he would have killed me), and then she saw the graphic tees. She decided on a Scooby Doo shirt, then changed to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirt, and finally insisted on this shirt that states: "Protect your nuts". Extremely inappropriate, I know, but she would not be swayed b/c "Micah loves squirrels and coconuts".

Fun night out with the girls on Saturday night, yay!!

And then this- the most miserable looking 4 year old ever. This first pic is of her just trying to smile! I RAN her to the doctor who thought it was allergies combined with some bacteria from the pollen in her eyes. She got antibiotics and allergy meds which helped until we went outside at a friends house a couple days later and then it came back. And unfortunately now she has to stay inside until all this yucky stuff in the air clears!

I can't write much about this b/c the state of my yard depresses me too much! The hole is filled now but left behind is a four foot pile of dirt across the whole yard and a ripped up patio. My husband has a lot of work ahead of him...

EASTER

EASTER! We started the morning out early. Big Boy woke up around 7, earlier than usual, and ran into our room with his new Buzz Lightyear in his hand yelling. It took him about 20 more minutes to care enough about the other stuff to go get it and then he brought that into our bed as well.

Photobucket

Sissy slept in for quite a bit longer and then wandered into our room. She was completely baffled by Big Boy's new stuff. We asked her if the Easter Bunny left anything in her room for her and she said no. She had walked right by it! (I'm not sure how, either, since the Easter Bunny was generous and brought her a brand new bike this year as well as an overflowing basket.)

After admiring our baskets we got ready for church. Their actual planned Easter outfits were much less fabulous but Aunt Ashlee surprised Sissy this week with a brand new twirly dress and new purse. And T just happened to have some matching cute attire, so we were in business. I was trying desperately for pictures as we were rushing out the door.

After church we drove to Gpa and Gma McLain's house for lunch and an egg hunt.

Later that afternoon we drove over to my grandparent's house for another egg hunt with more family. We had all changed by that point and the weather was beautiful. We sat outside for a couple hours and the kids had a great time playing.

We are finalizing the replacement of our sewer line this week- fun. In the next week or two we will have huge trenching machines tearing through our yard and digging a 12 feet deep hole into our grass as well as jackhammers and a cement truck for our patio. Pictures of this miserable experience to come!
