Goodbye to an old friend

After having the same in our crib in our house for four years, we have finally sent it packing! Big Boy is the new, proud owner of a big boy bed!! The crib, rocker, and changing table are in storage now and in their place is a newly painted room, a bed fit for an athletic prince, and toys!

It is very bittersweet, putting away all of our baby furniture- and I might have teared up a little bit. I always said that Big Boy would be in a crib until he was 5 (b/c he is such a monkey). Surprisingly enough T waited until about a month ago before he started climbing out. It wasn't long before he was getting out and coming out of his room over and over. We put a lock on the outside of his door to keep him in, and it worked great, but he couldn't (or wouldn't) climb back in his crib so he would fall asleep on the floor. We gave in and converted his crib to a toddler bed and it worked so much better. He'd mess around in his room a few minutes and then hop back in. I was not a fan of the crib/toddler bed, though- it was too small for us to lay in with him to sing to him or read to him- so we spent the weekend painting and assembling a real big boy room!
